So I don't like how this blog looks. When I find the time and inspiration I'll mess around with it and see what I can do. ANYWAY. Plane tickets are bought. Liz and I felt considerably overwhelmed afterward as we tried to assess the situation and how we really felt. We are taking off January 31st (2 months away!) and returning early early early in the morning on July 3rd. That is 5 whole months in NZ. My dad responded with, "Great, you screwed up my 4th of July holiday." Sorry dad. =P We found tickets for less than $1,900. It's expensive but that's a pretty good deal. Most tickets are $2,000+ so I'm satisfied, even if my bank account is not.
I'm not too pumped about being jobless next summer, but its looking that way since my last job isn't likely to let me start in the middle of July. Good news is that I know this guy, Jim, from my church congregation who is going on a bike trip around Lake Superior in August. I've expressed interest in tagging along. 3 reasons I should go.
1. I won't have a job so why the hell not?
2. If I get fat in NZ this is my chance to return to normal (still single so I have to maintain myself, ha ha).
3. Biking around Lake Superior would be wicked awesome, not to mention going to Canada...never been there before.
So there, I'm going. Now I just have to keep from spending all that I have in NZ so that I can...you know...obtain a bike!
Things to do:
Pay a ton of fees.
Research places to go in NZ.
Complete and turn in Visa papers.
Doctor appointment.
Email Vicky.
The list goes on. It's like just when I think everything is good to go there are ten more things to do.
