From Fresh Water.

A few people have told me to keep blogging even though I'm back.  Well, I don't have much to say.  I miss my 10 hours of sleep and afternoon nap that I used to have every day in Whanganui.  It's also strange having a 2 day weekend.  Only 2 days?  I mean come on!  Hahahaha.  It's been fun working 5 days a week (not) plus a summer class.  But the weather has been just beautiful.  A little dry, could definitely use some rain...but hey, I'm not gonna complain about sunshine.  Not to mention my blood tests for working at the hospital came back saying a have a Vitamin D deficiency soooo...if that isn't a prescription to go to the beach then I don't know what is!

Other things keeping me happy and busy are: biking to work and back, reading ("the perks of being a wallflower" was excellent) going to open mic at Stage North (not as cool as the Whanganui Musicians Club but...it will fill the void for now), playing volleyball with quarter-hispanic-Joe (got battle wounds to prove it), catching up with Ashland folk ("OH EM GEE I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU SINCE HIGH SCHOOL" conversations), and of course seeing some long-time friends AD & Melissa :))))).

AAAAAnd here are some photos because I don't have much else to say except that I absolutely can't wait to see my STOUT friends, it's been killing me that I don't get to see 'em until the end of August when I move back to school.

Ashland's famous oredock...in the process of being taken down. :(

At the beach with my little cousin Renee...she was having fun finding muscles and scooping
them out of the shell....I told her not to  kill them but whatever.

Lake Superior!  THE LAKE IS THE BOSS.

Maslowski Beach.  Typical crowd.  I've seen it busier though.

Typical flower photo.

Seagulls...oredock in background.

At Ashland's Farmers' Market

Ashland Farmers' Market....literally only a block long.

I tried a kale chip.  It was salty.

Nice lady giving out free samples.

Dog trying to keep cool at Bay Days Festival.

Pie Eating contest at Bay Days Festival.

The Gyro bus...can't miss it.

Buying Indian tacos!

My first Indian Taco...just a regular taco on fry bread.  I was a little disappointed.
Fry bread is gooood though.

Playing a carnival game for funsies because I wanted
to win a fish and it was only $3 to play.

I was unsuccessful, but mom won one!

okay this was SO cool.  This is copper and the lady
paints it with fire, and the flames change the
color of the copper.  So neat!

I don't love living here.  But I love Lake Superior.  And I gotta admit, this place has it's special moments.  It's not that bad.  And when I think about it....not much different from Whanganui.  Kind of similar in size and in the types of people that live here.  And Whanganui was not that bad.  :)
