Castle Cliff Beach

Enjoyed a grapefruit from the farmer's market this morning.  It was smaller and sweeter than grapefruit at home.  Also the fruit wasn't bright pink, but more of a beige color.  Whatever, it tasted good enough for me.  Then for lunch I tagged along with Chris and Fahd (our next door Malaysian but English speaking neighbor) for sushi.  It was good.  I remember having Sushi in Key West, Florida that was really good.  Then I tried it at a couple China Buffets in America where it wasn't nearly as good and I couldn't remember why I even liked it in the first place.  Thankfully my sushi experience has been saved with more good sushi.

Yesterday we went to Castle Cliff beach.  It was beautiful.  I've seen the ocean before, but it is still big and amazing.  We tried swimming but the waves were really big.  I was also scared of going out too far...lots of people have told us to be careful with the currents and rips and surfs and what not.  So then Liz and I collected sea shells and laid in the sun for the better part of a few hours.  I couldn't believe how blue the water was.  And the sand is black.  It was hot hot hot.  And you guys have been asking for pictures...sooo:

Me!  Liz took the picture. :)

We got very sunburned.....I would take a picture of it but I'm too embarressed to even put it on here!  Let's just say that never in my life (that I remember) have I ever been sunburnt in between my eyebrows and my eye lids...or in the space between my upper lip and my nose...or even my legs!  My legs never get burned!  And my feet!  Don't even get me started.  My one dollar walmart flip flops that have lasted me THREE years had to break yesterday...so the poor bottoms of my feet I think got burned.  Makes me really appreciate shoes after that.  And of course, my stomach is still pale as ever because somehow it ignores sunshine?

Anyway, after the beach we all got cold drinks as we waited for the bus.  Very refreshing.

  1. That picture of you is mega adorable! I'm so jealous! Monday it was around 45 degrees and I was ready to bask in a little sundress, haha. Got your text message as well - not sure if it costs more/how much but I still saved the number into my phone! We all miss you lots and are happy to hear that you're having a good time so far! :)
