Ucol orientation.
Wednesday Chris asked Vicky how big the school was and she was all, "I don't know..why would I know that? Its not my department to know how big the school is.......maybe 2,000? I don't know."
Uhmmmm okaaaaaaay.
So today at orientation, the guy who's leading us around and telling us everything about everything asks if we have any questions. So I raise my hand, "How many students go to Ucol and how many are in the Computer Graphics program?"
And he laughed at me! Because he didn't know either! Like it was a stupid question! He's says, "Well...in Computer Graphics there are about 18 new students....20 second years...."-yadda yadda yadda-"so about 100." But let me tell you that the numbers he shelled out added up to 65 at most. And how do you not know how many students are in the school you're teaching at? Doesn't that kind of matter? Isn't that a factor in things like funding and budgets and classroom sizes and blah blah blah. And then he went on about how back in the day there were 27 design professors and now there are only 9. Cool, so you know how many professors there aren't.
(BTW, professors are called tutors here. And classes are called papers.)
And then picking classes was just...........no words for it. But I ended up in 3D Modeling, Graphic Design 3, Graphic Design History, and Illustration. The last one of which I have no clue what time it's at. Petrina said she'll let us know the final schedules before school starts. How? I don't know. Because I don't think she even has our email addresses.
And don't even get me started on how we don't have our student IDs yet because our paperwork wasn't finished. So redic.
